Duke Energy Quits 'Clean Coal' Coalition. MarketPlace, September 3, 2009. "Duke Energy is the third largest electricity company in the country. And as of September 3, it's no longer part of a group called The American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity. It's a lobbying group aimed at greening-up the image of coal-fired power plants that use new technology to cut down on greenhouse gases. But Duke says the group is aimed at something else too: blocking climate change legislation."
