You’ve obviously recognized how bad they are and now realize how relatively easy it is to get them out of your life. But for those of you who are still on the plastic bag fence, let’s look at a few facts... Around the world this year, plastic bag consumption will exceed the 500 billion mark. The average number of plastic bags consumed every minute around the world is roughly 1 million a minute. To put that in perspective, since you started reading this article, over a million bags have been consumed. Of that number, only 1% will actually be recycled, while the rest will either end up in landfills or worse, out in nature or in the ocean.”
