Greenpeace Protesters Block Greenland Drilling. AP, August 31, 2010. "The activists breached a 1,650-feet (500-meter) security perimeter around the Stena Don rig off western Greenland, climbed up the rig and fastened themselves to it... The breach triggered an automatic shutdown of the rig's operations... The drilling in the Arctic has sparked condemnation from Greenpeace, whose activists are worried that an oil rush would damage the region's fragile ecosystem... Drilling for fossil fuels off Greenland's west coast resumed in 2001, three decades after a previous effort failed to find oil."
