Vermont Governor Supports Regional Carbon Tax. By Bob Kinzel, Vermont Public Radio, 12/ 11/13. “Gov. Peter Shumlin is calling for a regional approach to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, including a potential tax on carbon fuels… ‘Vermont can’t do a carbon tax in isolation. However, it is shortsighted and irresponsible to continue to burn carbon and not pay for it when we burn it,’ said Shumlin. ‘So I would love to see a national approach to that issue, if not national, regional.’”
