NASA's James Hansen to Speak in D.C. on Earth Day. Press release, CCAN, April 17, 2008. "Dr. James Hansen, Director of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies, will give a keynote speech on Tuesday, April 22nd, at a major Earth Day event organized by the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN) beginning at 7pm at The George Washington University Lisner Auditorium. Hansen will be speaking two weeks after the release of a new report, Target Atmospheric CO2: Where Should Humanity Aim? [PDF, 35 pages], which warns that countries must urgently rethink targets for cutting carbon dioxide in the atmosphere because of new evidence that they have grossly underestimated the scale of the problem."
