1Sky Announces Senate Call-In on January 12. By Anne C. Mulkern, Greenwire, January 6, 2010. "An environmental group announced plans on Wednesday to flood Senate offices with calls urging action on climate legislation. 1Sky asked supporters to sign up for the Jan. 12 effort... Although the effort plans to contact all senators, 1Sky has beefed up efforts in states it sees as key to a climate bill vote: Arkansas, Colorado, Ohio, Florida, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin. Callers will ask senators to take action on a climate bill and to vote 'no' on whether to limit U.S. EPA's power to regulate greenhouse gases. The Senate will soon vote on increasing the statutory limit on the public debt and as part of that, Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) will be allowed to offer an amendment that would limit EPA's authority to curb emissions."
