Major Wind Investment Announced in Scotland. By Jane Bradley, Edinburgh Scotsman, September 14, 2010. "Iberdrola, the Spanish owner of ScottishPower, is to plough £3 billion into renewable energy projects in Scotland over the next three years, delivering a major boost for a sector that has been hailed as the future of the country's economy. The investment, the company's biggest in Scottish projects, will fund both onshore and offshore wind-farm developments to 2012, as well as advancements in carbon-capture technology and smart grids... Iberdrola's international offshore wind headquarters is to be in Glasgow, from where back-office operations will be run for a string of projects across Europe."
